Hazelnut butter, which we call Pure Hazelnut, is another one of the 11 butters that Casca Rija has to offer you.
Regardless of the dried fruit that serves as inspiration for a butter, we keep our production process unchanged, following simple but demanding steps: roasting, selection, crushing and flavoring.
As with other butters, we always start with roasting, a crucial step carried out without any use of additives. The hazelnuts are delicately toasted naturally until they reach the ideal point.
After cooling, a machine specially created for this purpose removes the characteristic toasted skins of the hazelnuts. This process was also done manually at an early stage of the company.
After removing the roasted skin, the hazelnuts are selected! This is perhaps the most rigorous selection we have, as it is made up of not one, but three different choices! Perfect hazelnuts are used for our nut bags. The hazelnuts discarded from the previous choice, but in good condition, are used in hazelnut butter and we discard all those that are not in the best condition and that could alter the final flavor.
The third step of production involves transforming the roasted hazelnuts into a velvety, creamy consistency. This is the most complicated production process of all our butters, due to the high oil content naturally contained in hazelnuts.
As with all other butters, a little exotic spices (cinnamon and ginger) are added, always ensuring that their flavor does not overpower the unique flavor of the hazelnut. Cinnamon adds a touch of delicate sweetness, while ginger brings a hint of spice that awakens the senses. The result is an aromatic and silky cream, revealing, in each spoonful, the unique flavor of our hazelnut butter, the Pure Casca Rija.
In the end, the result is a hazelnut butter, creamy, aromatic and with an unmistakable flavor that will certainly exceed the expectations of all lovers of this dried fruit!

note: Over time, it is normal for oil to appear on the surface of our 100% natural butters because we do not use artificial emulsifiers. This process is called phase separation, that is, the separation between the dry fruit (solid content and heaviest) and the oil of the respective dried fruit (liquid and lighter). To achieve a better emulsion of the contents of the packaging before any use, we recommend stirring the contents well. Furthermore, you can turn the jar from top to bottom and vice versa frequently, as this way the contents inside will be better emulsified and will not form solid butter at the bottom of the jar as easily.
