Hazelnut Butter with Cocoa 250 g
Like every story with a hero, at Casca Rija there is one butter we are especially proud of: our Hazelnut Butter with Cocoa!
This irresistibly tasty butter is the result of 12 attempts to find the right proportions of hazelnut butter, honey, excellent-quality cocoa powder and fleur de sel from Rio Maior, Portugal. It is another example of our motto: "Less is More! Less ingredients, More real food!".
The ingredients were chosen to create a healthier version of a spread that no one, anywhere in the world, can resist. To replace refined sugar, we chose honey, a natural liquid sweetener known for its various health benefits, including its nutrients (vitamins, minerals and antioxidants) and low glycaemic index. We also replaced milk chocolate with high-quality cocoa powder, whose health benefits have already been proven.
For the hazelnut butter production process, we have kept to tradition, following simple but exacting stages: roasting, selection and grinding.
1st - As with our other butters, we begin with roasting, an important stage carried out without additives. The hazelnuts are roasted naturally until they reach just the right point.
2nd - After cooling, a special machine removes the hazelnut skins.
3rd - The third step transforms the roasted hazelnuts into a velvety butter, a challenging process because of the hazelnuts’ high natural oil content.
Unlike all our other butters, Casca Rija Hazelnut Butter with Cocoa has none of our usual added spices. We wanted it to be simple yet tasty, so the 4th production step is to add cocoa powder and a touch of fleur de sel.
5th - Finally, the honey is added.
With the ingredients carefully balanced, the cocoa provides a pleasing flavour, while the honey adds natural sweetness and the fleur de sel intensifies the cocoa flavour.
Hazelnut Butter with Cocoa is a creamy, deliciously healthy option that is sure to exceed the expectations of anyone looking for a distinctive hazelnut and cocoa spread.
